Population ageing is one of the greatest achievements of mankind and at the same time, it is linked to great economic, social, and public health challenges. Polibienestar is addressing these challenges by implementing European projects that aim to enhance social and healthcare services for the elderly. These projects focus on integrated approaches, optimising the use of social and health resources. The goal is to promote active and healthy ageing while increasing the social participation of older people within their communities. This, in turn, aims to minimise or alleviate social isolation, leveraging the opportunities presented by new information and communication technologies.
The EUVECA Project aims also to address the challenges coming with an ageing population through developing a training platform for health and social care staff, focusing on 21st century skills.
On our website, you can read more about the six mega trends below:
- The ageing population
- Growing importance of chronic diseases and comorbidity
- The digital transformation
- Going from technology to biology
- The modern health consumer
This European training platform is strengthened by regional Hubs in seven European countries that form the consortium.
Apart from EUVECA, Polibienestar is also working on the the ValueCare project funded by the Horizon2020 programme. This initiative aims to provide efficient and results-based integrated care, encompassing both health and social aspects, to elderly facing cognitive impairment, frailty, and/or multiple chronic conditions. The overarching goal is to enhance the quality of life for these individuals and their families through the implementation of value-based methodologies supported by digital solutions.
Likewise, the e-Active project, funded by the ERASMUS+ programme, aims to improve active and healthy ageing and the social participation of elderly people through the development of an electronic tool with educational activities. The aim is to improve their social participation, physical activity and mental skills.
