Region Nordhordland

Region Nordhordland IKS (RNI) is located in western Norway and is a Norwegian intermunicipal Company. The company is owned by the municipalities Alver, Austrheim, Fedje, Gulen, Masfjorden, Modalen, Osterøy and Vaksdal. RNI is the municipalities cooperation for joint efforts in several areas, including cooperation within health and care, business and community development and digitization and innovation. RNI has a separate board of directors and is also closely linked to the Nordhordland Regional Council, where the eight mayors in the region are represented.

 

Role in the project:

Region Nordhordland IKS is the regional partner wich represent the municipal level in the EUVECA project in Norway. The region is the area where the Norwegian partners will establish the RVEH for the project. RNI seeks to ensure better health and safety for the inhabitants in the region, through focus on future-oriented health and care services where cooperation, development and sustainability are key pillars.

Challenge

 

The sustainability of the European health care sector has been challenged by 6 mega trends over the last several years. To respond to these trends and achieve maximum care quality, patient safety, efficiency, and economic sustainability, the sector has undergone major changes:   

(i) Increased digitalization  

(ii) A shift towards patient-centered care 

(iii) Greater patient involvement in in co-designing care pathways
