Four multidisciplinary student teams from Saxion University of Applied Sciences and the University of Twente worked closely with EUVECA during the project period. The teams addressed a variety of complementary challenges: from strengthening the regional hub to motivating healthcare professionals and embedding the Edu4Health platform into the curriculum.
Smart Solutions Semester – Visibility and collaboration
The first team examined how EUVECA can demonstrate its added value more clearly and stimulate sustainable collaboration within the healthcare sector.
Their recommendation: focus on visibility and actively involve partners through projects that address the six major megatrends in healthcare. This will give EUVECA not only a recognizable profile but also direct relevance for regional partners.
Twente Hub – Attracting and retaining partners
A second team students from Twente University explored how the Twente hub can attract and retain partners. Their message is clear: without a strong value proposition and a compelling communication strategy, long-term collaboration is difficult. Partner-focused workshops and decisive decision-making foster involvement. For the future, the students advise sharpening the hub’s profile to distinguish it from existing networks and embedding it more firmly at the local level. In this way, Twente can grow into a leading example for other European regions.
University of Twente – EUVECA platform and motivation of healthcare professionals
A third team focused on the EUVECA platform and asked: how can healthcare professionals be truly motivated to participate in online training?
The answer: tap into their intrinsic motivation. By designing learning activities based on autonomy, competence, and relatedness (self-determination theory), and by applying attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction (the ARCS model), the platform can continuously engage and inspire healthcare professionals.
Implementation advice for Edu4Health
The fourth team provided a concrete implementation plan for Saxion University of Applied Sciences. Their conclusion: Edu4Health can be successfully embedded in education, provided there is attention to both technology and people. This includes integration with Brightspace, proper support for lecturers, and a phased rollout through pilots. With this approach, the platform can become a structural part of curricula and help both students and professionals develop 21st-century skills.
Fresh ideas like building blocks
The students’ recommendations make one thing clear: the future of EUVECA depends on collaboration, visibility, and motivation. Their proposals not only provide practical tools for today but also set the course for tomorrow.
“With the fresh ideas of these students, we are taking concrete steps forward. Their work provides the building blocks for a strong and future-proof EUVECA” according to the project partners.
