ZGT (Hospital Group Twente) is a top clinical hospital that offers a broad package of care for patients in Twente from two distinctive hospital locations (Almelo and Hengelo). Our hospital has an important function in the region and it also has supra-regional significance for various specialisations. View the area of specific oncology care, complex diabetes and obesity. We work together with other (academic) hospitals and healthcare providers and stand for top clinical level care. This is reflected in mixed specialist medical expertise, fed by scientific research, education, training and innovation. Quality and safety are our top priorities. Our hospital is Qualicor Europe accredited and our medical equipment TÜV certified. ZGT’s primary service area comprises a large part of Northwest and Central Twente. a catchment area of approximately 390,000 inhabitants.

Our mission:

ZGT contributes to health. In consultation with the patient, we provide the most appropriate medical specialist care. We pay personal attention to people and we look at quality of life with a broad view of Health. ZGT offers (care) professionals a stimulating working environment, in which professionalism, cooperation, training and research are central. We are progressive and continuously focused on improving healthcare. We work together with our healthcare partners to guarantee good healthcare for people in Twente and beyond.

Role in the project:

ZGT is closely involved in work package 5 in which we, together with our regional partners, will contribute to the testing and implementation phase of the Regional Vocational Education Hubs in Healthcare (EPVE). ZGT is a teaching hospital. We train healthcare professionals because expertise is of the utmost importance to us. Training, education and research are a core task for ZGT. We provide further training for our employees to guarantee and improve the quality of care. ZGT Academy coordinates, provides and supports all these activities. There is room for developing skills and applying creativity in nursing and care professions, medical and paramedical professions, researchers and, of course, also in support professions in the field of facilities. In this way we continuously invest in creating a solid learning culture and structure. Considering this specific expertise and experience ZGT is able to play a valuable contribution in the EUVECA project.
