EUVECA Final European Conference: The importance of VET and regional collaboration to ensure sustainability in the European Health Care Sector

EUVECA Final European Conference: The importance of VET and regional collaboration to ensure sustainability in the European Health Care Sector

Join the EUVECA Final European Conference in Brussels on 24 March 2026 to explore VET, regional collaboration and health workforce sustainability in Europe.

The conference, titled ‘The importance of VET and regional collaboration to ensure sustainability in the European Health Care Sector’, will bring together European and national policymakers, vocational education and training providers, healthcare organisations, professional networks, EU-funded projects and other key stakeholders.

Europe’s health care systems face growing pressure from demographic change, skills shortages and rapid digital transformation. Strengthening future-oriented skills and high-quality vocational education and training (VET) is essential to ensure a sustainable health workforce. The conference will provide a space to reflect on how regional and European collaboration can support this objective.

What is on the programme

The programme will focus on EUVECA’s key results and broader policy perspectives, including:

  • insights from the EUVECA skills needs analysis for the health sector;
  • lessons learned from establishing regional Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs);
  • the role of educators and training providers in ensuring quality and innovation in VET;
  • the Edu4Health platform as a European space for sharing and accessing high-quality learning resources;
  • the value of regional and European collaboration models in supporting health workforce sustainability.

Discussions will also link EUVECA’s work to European policy priorities, including the European Skills Agenda and the European Education Area.

Interested stakeholders are invited to register in advance to take part in the conference.
